Squirt's Story...

Squirt is a sweetie and is a big, little boy. Initially quite nervous in his new foster home, Squirt has made lots of progress and now enjoys gentle pets. His foster mom generally finds him at the front of his cage checking things out. Squirt loves to eat and has started accepting treats from his foster mom's hand. He is a vocal piggy and makes sure his foster mom remembers when meal time comes around.

Piggies are much happier in pairs and Squirt would love to find a home with a female pig that he could dote on. He will be neutered by KAR prior to being to being adopted.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Squirt, a Kingston Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Kingston, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Kingston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kingston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kingston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kingston paves the way for another one to be saved.
