A purebred Yorkie with a face like hers, a coat like hers and soft brown eyes like hers will melt your heart!! But a story like hers will break your heart. Nikki was abandoned in the dead of winter, looking for shelter and scrounging for food in rural Arkansas. She was picked up and brought to a city pound to see if someone would claim her, but no one did. How did she land on the streets and what could she possibly do to deserve that? We'll never know. But we have made her the promise of a brand new start, and Nikki is now living at a foster home, getting much of the TLC she truly needs. Nikki is learning how to be social with everyone - - lots of activity and commotion still gets her nervous - - so we're looking for a quiet, nurturing home that can help her feel secure, possibly for the first time in her little life. She plays with other dogs at the foster home and she's just beginning to discover what a dog toy is! She's much more comfortable with women than men, so her ideal situation would be keeping company with a single woman where she could spend her days girl-bonding. We think Nikki is about 8 years old, she weighs about 8 pounds and she's a healthy girl.
