My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dartz's adoption fee is $350.

Dartz is an adorable 7 year-old beige and white Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix. He is a very cute boy with soft curly fur, floppy ears, sad dark eyes and a cropped tail. He's 29 pounds, in good health, is neutered, micro chipped, and is current on vaccines. Dartz is a sweet, cooperative and affectionate boy who bonds very quickly with the members of the household and thrives on routines and clear boundaries. He is totally house trained, walks well on a leash, stays with you and obeys you off-leash. He has strong guard-dog instincts, and will let you know of activity around your home. This, however, would suggest that he may be better suited for a calm home on a quiet street as opposed to condo life. Dartz was raised by a loving family who took time to train him well and teach him to behave appropriately. Although it has been difficult for him to readjust to life without them, he is beginning to play with toys and find enjoyment in life. Dartz does have a lot of energy, though, and loves to run - he'd be a great running partner. He enjoys and requires considerable daily exercise such as long walks or runs and being outside with his family in an area where he can move around freely. At a minimum, 2 half-hour walks daily are needed. Being an only dog for his entire life, Dartz shows no desire to be around other dogs, and although he will tolerate being with them, does not appreciate them hovering too close. For that reason, we are suggesting that he would be happiest being the only dog. We also feel that Dartz would be best suited to a quiet, adult only home with someone home for the majority of the day, and which will provide him with sufficient exercise and consistent discipline in a calm and caring home environment.
