ZEN's Story...

Zen is a beautiful and sweet 10-month old kitten! She loves running around after her toy mouse or chasing a ball around the room. She also enjoys the company of a cat companion with whom to chase, wrestle or take a cat nap with! She gets along with other cats, kittens and is also good with kids but it will take a bit of time in a new home before she feels confident enough to show her truest happy, outgoing personality. She would love someone who is willing to be patient to let this sweet girl from the street show how she can bloom into the loving kitty she is when she feels safe and loved. Zen wants to be near you, loved, petted and when you hold her she literally wraps her paws around your arm and looks up so you can kiss her head. What a pleasure it is to see a shy kitty come into her own! Zen and her sister Chance were discovered in a wooded area behind a dead-end street in Queens where they were born and lived. They were saved just before our harsh winter that would have surely killed them. Zen is now waiting for a forever home and would like to stay with her sister Chance (listed separately) if possible or have another cat companion. Zen is spayed, vaccinated, FIV/FELV Negative and flea/worm free! Application, adoption fee and home visit required.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ZEN, a Ridgewood Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Ridgewood, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Ridgewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ridgewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ridgewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ridgewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
