My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

AGE: 1.5 TO 2.5 YEARS

BREED: GERMAN SHORTHAIRED POINTER/
AM. STAFF. MIX

SEX: MALE, NEUTURED

WEIGHT: 70lbs
- Finnegan is super sweet and friendly with everyone he meets. He is a fearless, affectionate, and joyful puppy in
a big boys body! He is very strong and can loose focus when he gets excited but he is learning so quickly and is
eager to do anything you want him to do as long as he is with you. He is friendly with all dogs, but his puppy
fearlessness combined with his size and strength (and speed cause he is super fast!) can be intimidating to a
lot of dogs and would probably be too much for small or senior dogs. He does have a strong instinct to chase and
is amazingly fast! From everything to running through agility obstacles to brushing his teeth or hanging out at
Town Square meeting people, Finnegan is game for whatever you ask as long as he gets to be at your side.
- The best way I can think of to convey why I think Finnegan is such a special dog is to share a few stories. Words
like sweet and affectionate are accurate, btu dont give you a true sense of Finn. I dont like talking on the phone
much and mostly text. The one thing I get fewer of than phone calls is visitors to my condo, however, it is gated
and people have to call from the directory to my cell phone for me to open the gate. However, some people follow
someone else in and dont call, and occasionally I get calls that arent from the gate. After about a month of living
with me, Finnegan has associated my phone ringing with someone coming over. It usually takes 5 - 10 min after the gate
call for anyone to knock, and for such a young dog and such an obscure, inconsistant and delayed association, I thnk
its truly a signof what a clever and thoughtful dog he really is. I never get of the phone from the gate and say,
"Guess whos coming over?" or anything else that would make the connection for him.
On the other hand Finn is horrible at helping you clean house. He will stand directly on top of the pile of dirt you swept
up and are trying to sweep into the dustpan, or he will stick his nose in it to inspect it for you first. The other day I
was cleaning the shower and didnt think to close the shower door after me so when I turned around he was sitting behind me
in the shower. He does have a healthy, non antaganistic relationship with the vacuum however. He keeps his distance to
the point that you only occasionally bump into him with it but he doesnt attack it or anything. He is, however, really
good at helping to clean up parks. Within the first week we started going to Charlie Frias park as we were walking the
path around the soccer fields, I saw that some group of people had brought a flat of bottled water, and then had left
pretty much every empty bottle as well as the plastic and cardboard packaging scattered across one side of the field.
So when Finn and I got over there, I picked up a couple, dropped one, and Finn picked it up. We walked over to the garbage
and I threw mine away. I put my hand under Finnegans mouth and told him to let me have it, and he dropped it in my hand and
I put it in the garbage. We cleaned up all the bottles and such together, and while originally I was irritated and angry
at the people who were such pigs but by the end I was smiling because every time I had a handful to take to the garbage
can, Finnegan had a mouthful to give to me to throw away as well.

I hope that now it will be easier for Finnegan's future family to know or sure that he is the next member and is eagerly
waiting to meet them. Please call (or text!) me with any questions or to meet Finnegan. - Brandy 702-913-3977
