Leia's Story...
My name is Princess Leia. I was rescued off the streets of New York years ago and brought down to Texas by my previous owner due to extenuating circumstances. I came into foster care through a rescue, and am looking for a new home now! I was super shy at first after my move but now I run this place. I can be a bit of a diva around other animals, and I am off in. I am in love with Padme, we share a room together. We are the bestest of buds. I do fine with dogs. I do not play much anymore, really I walk around a lot, and stare and walk some more. haha. I like to stalk you in the bathroom too! I have a squinty eye from what my vet says is an old neck injury perhaps, so it makes me look a bit funny, but she says its no problem and has no repercussions. I am a tiny gal, around 6 lbs. Will you give me a chance? I may be older, but I still have many years to go.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leia, a McKinney Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in McKinney, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in McKinney.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in McKinney already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a McKinney breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in McKinney paves the way for another one to be saved.
