Maddie is a purebred chocolate labrador retriever, whose owners could sadly no longer care for her. She is confused and heartbroken and is looking for a new forever family who will understand she has been through a terrible separation and give her love, patience, and who understands she is a young lab who has never had any formal training. She is very smart and has already learned some basic commands in only a few days.
Maddie is 2 years old, and will be spayed and microchipped prior to adoption. She is up to date on all vaccines and is heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
Maddie LOVES the water and is an avid swimmer. She would love a home near the water or with a pool, as she would really love to have access to water. She also is looking for an active family familiar with labs who is willing to endlessly throw a ball for her to retrieve and maybe even take her running and/or hiking.
Maddie grew up around dogs of all sizes, shapes, and breeds, and has always been excellent with all dogs and cats she has met, as well as with children (her former owner has two very young children). Maddie has been very stressed since being pulled from her family, however, and did not do well with the dogs in her foster home, so she is currently in a home with no other dogs while she adjusts to the stress of her family not coming back to get her.
Maddie is 72.4 lbs., and is full grown. She walks on a leash but needs some work as she does pull some. She is a very sweet dog who loves to cuddle in her owners bed and on the sofa. She is fully housebroken and crate trained.
