My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here’s Howie. He’s a 5 year old Glen of Imaal Terrier/terrier mix who weighs 36 lbs. Howie is sweet and smart and has definitely been trained. He obeys simple commands and minds. He loves going outside and is fine with his crate. He does not like his belly touched and he is fearful of other dogs and men but can be redirected with treats. He is not aggressive with other men, he just barks at them. Howie does not have destructive tendencies and is not a chewer. He can easily become overstimulated when being petted and can quickly go from play nibbling to snapping. He needs a savvy owner who can read body language to see his signals of discomfort before he hits his limit. For this reason we do not recommend him for a home with children. He is housebroken but still has an inclination to mark his territory. He will lift his leg but will obey if told no. He does pull on the leash a little when being walked and he will bark when someone is at the door or at noises in the building. He is making great progress and learning to SIT and STAY before walks and meals. He is also learning not to bark at other dogs but he still does make a good watch dog. He loves to wrestle but can get a little too aggressive; he does know how to reset himself and settle down.
