Lexi's Story...
Meet Lexi, one of the largest cats we have at the shelter! This big sweetheart is a Maine Coon mix with gorgeous dilute tortoiseshell/silver-blue fur. Lexi came into the shelter very underweight and with terrible mats in her fur. But with some TLC, good food, and fancy haircut she is feeling a-ok now...and she's ready to find her Furever Home. Lexi is laid back and calm...except when she gets into the catnip, then it's playtime! She would make a great companion in just about any home. If you'd like to meet Lexi, stop by the shelter on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm or any time during the week by appointment - just give a call or email. Lexi is looking forward to meeting you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lexi, a Parkville Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Parkville, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Parkville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Parkville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Parkville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Parkville paves the way for another one to be saved.
