Dorothy's Story...
Dorothy hasn't found the Wizard of Oz yet, she's still waiting to go home. A female shepherd mix (perhaps with some Beagle?), Dorothy is about 2 years old. Dorothy has quickly proven that she is so so smart, she learns tricks quickly, she picks up on what you want quickly, and she is housebroken! Not only is she smart, she is also so so sweet, nothing pleases her more than sitting on someone's lap or at least sitting with part of her on the lap. Dorothy likes some male dogs, but right now her attention is wholly on people. She can't be left alone in a yard; she can, and has, climbed out of a 6 foot chain link fence. If she is with a person, however, she's happy to walk the yard, sniffing and chasing leaves. Dorothy is best met one on one, at adoptions she is somewhat anxious with all the stimulation around her. Dorothy is a dog who will not only be a great companion; once she knows a home and family are hers and she is safely with them she will be the most devoted dog you can imagine.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dorothy, a Parkville Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Parkville, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Parkville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Parkville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Parkville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Parkville paves the way for another one to be saved.
