Lena's Story...
Lena, a gorgeous female Husky mix, almost didn't make it to 3 months. Abandoned at the shelter when no one was there, she wandered up to the highway and came within an inch or two of being hit by a car. Luckily, the driver was not only alert but compassionate and saved Lena from the middle of the road and brought her back to FOPAS. We estimate that Lena was born mid-March 2013. She has been at a foster home and is learning the ropes with many other dogs. As is obvious from her picture, she is very sweet and she loves to be with people. Lena is smart and will learn quickly and as she grows she'll need regular exercise to remain mentally and physically healthy. Here is a pup who has beaten the odds so far, so now she's ready for a nice, stable, and loving home to call her own.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lena, a Parkville Husky puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky for sale in Parkville, or seeking a Husky puppy from a breeder in Parkville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Parkville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Parkville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky breeders who help with Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Parkville paves the way for another one to be saved.
