Sadie's Story...
Some dogs don't seem to have much luck in life, and right now that certainly describes our girl Sadie! This senior (estimated 8-9 years) Shar Pei mix found herself homeless with a skin condition that resulted in the loss of much of her hair. Sadie's resilience is inspiring! Bad times don't keep her down, she is still happy and loving, ready to play or just sit and keep you company! As the result of good medical care her hair is growing back and Sadie is ready to solve her other issue - i.e. finding a permanent and loving home. Sadie likes other dogs and people, but no small children. Because of her age and possible continuing medical care for her skin, FOPAS is offering a permanent foster arrangement; you provide the home and the love and FOPAS covers expenses. What a wonderful solution to a sad story.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sadie, a Parkville Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei for sale in Parkville, or seeking a Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Parkville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Parkville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Parkville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei breeders who help with Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Parkville paves the way for another one to be saved.
