My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bear is a beautiful puppy who spent the first five months of her life living outside in the dirt with her mom, two siblings, and a total of 18 dogs. The family decided they needed to rehome the mom and three pups so here they are with us! All the pups were very good with their baths and really appreciated having large amounts of mud washed from their fur. They all cleaned up nicely and are super cute. Bear looks like a Pointer mix but will be petite. She has lovely soft speckling on her legs, neck, chest and face. Mom looks like a Schnauzer mix and dad is unknown.

Bear and her siblings did not have any human pampering for their five months of life, but they do not seem to have been mistreated at all and are so very gentle, sweet, and ready to learn all about love. She is going to be one super cuddly and affectionate girl once she realizes all that people have to offer her.

Already, when she is held in a persons loving arms, she relaxes, draping her body in your embrace like it is the best place to be. She will lean her head close to your neck for cuddling and gaze up sweetly and with great hope that you will adore her (which of course you will!). She will also come up to you, seeking affection once she feels safe.

She is shy because of inexperience, but put her with a group of happy, confident pups and she also becomes happy and so much more confident. She approaches people when another pup shows her what to do and we really want her to be adopted into a household with at least one other dog. Bear seems to be very good natured and should get along well with any other sweet, gentle companion.

Bear is a gentle little girl and prefers the company of more peaceful people and dogs. She can certainly be playful and fun, but she is submissive and would enjoy a submissive natured companion pup in her new home. It will take a little time for her to learn to be brave in all kinds of situations but she will learn and will be a really great dog with just a little experience out in the world.

She has had no experience at all on the leash so her new family will need to patiently introduce her to that. She will need to be housetrained, of course, but that should be easy since she likes to be a good girl. We are housing her in our kennel kitchen so she will get lots of people exposure and practice with housetraining.

Bear is a petite 17 pounds at 5 months old and her mom is just over 20 pounds so she will be a fairly small adult.
