My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bentley is a happy and friendly, two-year-old, 58-pound, male, dark chocolate pit bull terrier-mix with warm brown eyes looking for a loving guardian.
This big blockhead of a silly guy loves people, loves to play and can’t wait to find a loving family. Bentley loves his toys and chewing his bones. He knows the command sit and takes treats incredibly gently from your fingers.
Bentley likes other big young dogs to play with. However, he is not good with cats. He’s looking for a loving family to take him under their wing for training, exercise and love. He’s best with teens and adults and not small children who he can easily knock over.
Bentley was rescued with a slipped disk in his back that almost caused permanent paralysis. He was rushed to the vet for spinal surgery and has done beautifully!
Bentley is now on the road to recovery, healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-tested and micro-chipped. He would love to leave the shelter and recover fully in a cushy, loving home.
To meet and possibly adopt Bentley, please visit the Animal Care League shelter at 1011 Garfield, Oak Park, Illinois, Monday, Thursday & Friday from noon to 7:00 p.m. or Saturday & Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. His adoption fee of $150 benefits the rescued pets of the Animal Care League. You can also contact the ACL at 708-848-8155, or e-mail Gabrielle at caninemanager@animalcareleague.org
