Facts about Sasha

  • Breed: Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) Mix
  • Color: Brindle
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Sasha is a 33 lb female terrier mix who is 3 yrs old.

She was found running the streets of town with no owner to claim her and not a very fun place to be for a precious dog like her.

Sasha is really playful and has funny antics and is a complete joy to be around. Since she is still so young she is full of energy.

Sasha is dog friendly and has some friends she likes to play with at the shelter.

If you think you are ready for a fun loving gal then come on out and meet Sasha!

Sasha is kid, dog and cat friendly

Sasha has been working on stay, sit, shake and wait. She is a very smart girl who is catching on fast. She also loves playing fetch and is especially fond of babies and kids of all ages.

Sadly Sasha was adopted and her new owner only kept her for one month. Our hearts are broken that it did not work out but have faith that there is a special plan and a special owner in Sasha's future.

About Perry County Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

The Perry County Humane Society is a no-kill shelter located in DuQuoin, IL.

Our dream has become a reality, we opened the first no-kill shelter in Perry County on October 14, 2003! We are very excited and are now able to save many more animals but the shelter is still not the best place for the animals to reside.

Our plan of action is ADOPTION! So many stray and relinquished animals are brought in to the animal control facility everyday. We are a Humane Society that is made up of a small hard working core group that save animals from euthanasia at the animal control facility. We work night and day on adoptions, contacting rescues, finding funding, and caring for the animals that are currently residing at the facility. We still need you to adopt and take these animals to a great home they deserve!

We have on-going sponsor programs:

Sponsor a kennel program: $200.00 per year.

Sponsor a Spay/Neuter program: $30 a month This program will support our low cost spay & neuter program for Perry County residents. Applications are reviewed and approved on the financial needs of the family applying. We will allow as many applications for the amount of funding we have available each month.

Our Adoption Process...

At Perry County Humane Society we take great pride in placing our animals in a home that is best suited to each animals individual personality, temperament, and activity level.

In our adoption process you must fill out an application. We will also do a phone interview, a veterinarian reference check, a home visit, and whatever else is needed to verify that all the information on the application is truthful and complete.

We at PCHS want to be sure that you and your new pet are a perfect match, so that each placement is a permanent one. The adoption process is a way of getting to know you, your family and your lifestyle.

Perry County Humane Society's first and main responsibility is to our rescued pets.

You will find our online application at: http://www.perrycountyhumanesocietyil.com/adoption-application.html
