My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 10 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black & White
Weight: 50 lbs
Variety: Bench

Miss Mindy is as sweet as they come. This girl gets along marvelously with her Springer foster sister as well as with the teens and adults in her foster home. She loves to be around humans, and while she can be a bit shy when meeting new people, she settles in when she receives gentle praise.

While some Springers are ready for action, Mindy fits better into the low-activity category. She simply wants to be a companion, and she just loves cuddles and back scratches. Mindy enjoys leisurely walks with her people, and she does very well on a leash.

Because Mindy is initially shy, we want to place her in a quieter home without young and unpredictable children. Commotion just isn't her thing. Mindy was turned in to a shelter because she didn't get along with the cats in her home. She would do best as an only pet or with another dog. Though a fenced yard would be a plus, Mindy doesn't require one. She doesn't wander too far, and she will come when her humans make kissing noises.

When Mindy came to ESRA, she had a few lumps and bumps removed, which turned out to be fatty tumors--all benign. A previous trauma to her lower jaw resulted in some missing teeth, but the rest of her teeth have been cleaned, and she is feeling like a new girl. Mindy has taken all of these recent changes in stride, and she is now loving her life as a Springer knows how to do!

Mindy promises quiet companionship for her new family, and she is ready to be someone's new best friend. If you need a loyal and loving buddy, please contact her case managers at the e-mail address below.

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Mindy.
