Dandy Lion's Story...
Dandy Lion is a beautiful miniature English Cream longhair dachshund. He is a little shy with new people and is afraid of children, but warms up pretty quickly to calm adults, especially when he is in the company of other dogs.

Dandy really likes other dogs, and would do best in a quiet family with at least one other playful companion or with someone who is home alot to spend time with him. Companion dog needs to be small because he only weighs 8.6 pounds! Dandy can use the doggie door and loves to roam around the backyard exploring.

A fenced yard is a must for this boy! He also likes his crate with a comfy bed and blankie, and will take snoozes in there throughout the day. He is so adorable dragging out all his favorite toys from the basket, shaking them for a bit, then he goes in for another one!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dandy Lion, a Houston Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Houston, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
