My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Jasper is an adorable 4 month old, 5 pound puppy who had his entire Dachsie life ahead of him. So much to learn, see and do. So much to experience while growing from precious pup to an adult Dachshund. Sadly, his previous owner dropped him, causing his brain to swell, which then gave the poor baby temporary blindness. The vet's were unsure of the amount of vision that would be restored, and after all the testing, Jasper's owner abandoned him at the vet's office. He sat there for 3 long weeks until DREAM was contacted and a volunteer drove all the way to Jasper, TX (hence his new name) to pick the little guy up. His new foster mom took Jasper to our eye specialist for animals, and after an extensive and thorough exam, the vet determined Jasper had full vision and there was no damage to his eyes in any way whatsoever! All of Jasper's neurological findings were also completely normal. So luckily this accident did not cause a lifelong disability to this sweet boy. He is a happy, active and very playful puppy!
