Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Barney! This big hunk of English Lab treats every day like a laid back Sunday. Barney was found wandering the streets when he was brought to the shelter. He MUST have had a home (you don't get that fat on the streets!), but no one came to reclaim him. That's okay, though, because now Barney is living is up in his foster home! It was apparent that he was previously an outside dog because he did not understand the concept of a dog bed or bones at first. Now that he's comfortable, he can't get enough of them! Barney is extremely intelligent and picked up quickly on house- and kennel-training. He is also learning his basic commands. Barney will happily show you how smart he is if you come to meet him!
At around 3 years old and weighing in at just over 95lbs, Barney is ideal for a family wanting a lab, but wanting to avoid the dreaded puppy stage. This big guy may have a little more energy once he's lost a few pounds, but overall he just wants to hang out with his family on the couch! Barney gets along great with the dogs (he lives with a dachshund and another lab, so all sizes!) and would probably do wonderfully with children. This gentle giant just wants a home to finally call his own!
Dogs in our program are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and given an examination by a veterinarian prior to adoption.
Barney is currently in foster care so, if interested, please email us today!
