OK... We're on a roll with STANDARD POODLES NOW...
Meet "BAILEY" who was born July 17, 2013. She is an alert, most beautiful, spayed, AKC "parti" (black and white) Standard Poodle. Yow! Look at her! She is 26" tall and 48 pounds.
This pretty, very young, sweet Standard Poodle girl has been well cared for, deeply loved, loves to play with toys and gets along just fine with Daunte and Winnie.
Tearfully, Bailey comes to us from a very loving family who could no longer care for her. Thank you, Debbie.
Oh my! This girl just LOVES to run, so a securely fenced yard will be required. For many reasons and like most all Rescue Groups, we do NOT accept invisible fencing, so don't go there.
Bailey needs an experienced Poodle family willing to work with her in Obedience.
At first, we found that she was shy, very unsure of herself and didn't understand what you want her to do.
Yet, she is VERY SMART and has quickly learned basic commands (come, sit, stay) with love, patience, consistency along with positive enforcement (treats)!
Now you should see her play "ball"! She will toss the ball around and play "fetch" with it for hours. Eventually, she will return to the ball to me and allow me to throw it for her to catch. Work in progress.
This is a quiet, gentle, loving Standard Poodle who needs work and has GREAT potential to grow into one fantastic Poodle!
Yes, Mike and I would love to keep this girl. We rarely find such great Standard Poodles. And yes, she is that perfect!
However, true to her breed (hunting), Bailey is NOT good with small dogs, cats, rabbits, squirrels, etc.
Because most of the Poodles we help are small, we would have to give up our Poodle Rescue/Rehome work and I am not willing to do that right now.
Please, NO dominate or aggressive dogs as she is soft hearted and is very intimidated by them.
Absolutely no young children (under the age of 8). Bailey was fine with our grand-children, but they needed to be constantly supervised as Bailey considered the children as puppy playmates.
Bailey is very playful and with the younger children she didn't understand that her size could easily knock them over while unintentionally hurting them.
Bailey has slept in bed with her previous owner, but because Daunte is already in our bed, we do not have any more room for another Standard Poodle. That option is now up to you.
This is a very RARE occasion that we receive such a nice, young, healthy and beautiful AKC Standard Poodle. We all know that they are very difficult to find.
Bailey's adoption fee of $600.00 (plus Mn State tax of $42.00) is very reasonable in relationship to any other Standard Poodle of her class.
Her adoption fee will include her recent Vet check, all her shots are up to date, she has been spayed, wormed, teeth cleaned, heartworm tested negative and placed on a preventative, Home Again registered, Advantix ii has been applied (we live in the forest!) and all her past Vet records are included.
Also included with Bailey's adoption is her large kennel, a leash, collar, several bags of quality dog food, treats, toys, blanket and lots of good information to help your adoption start off on the right paw forward.
