Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Sassy and I am an 8-10 year old female shih-tzu that was saved from a terrible place by a very nice humane agent. This is my story. I was found in a yard screaming in pain and the nice agent took me to see a very good doctor and her dedicated technician. The good doctor gave me a shot that made me very sleepy. The dedicated technician worked swiftly to shave all of the matted hair off my body that was inhibiting my ability to move, trimmed my nails that had grown into my paw pads, got rid of the maggots that were surrounding my girly parts bc I couldn't move and was peeing on my self, gave me a good bath and cleaned up my poor scalded face. They took X-rays of my body and found that my back legs couldn't move because my hips are essentially fused into the sockets. I then received good food, eye meds (bc my eyes resembled raisins from the lack of tears) and pain meds to help w my discomfort. I was a little grumpy for several weeks and didn't want my face to be touched and nipped at anyone who tried, but eventually I understood they were helping me. At first, I was unable to walk so the good doctor tried out some wheels on me but they were a bit uncomfortable w my hip issue. The dedicated technician decided to take me home and foster me so I wouldn't have to stay in a cage 24/7 and from there I began to blossom. I can now walk again, love to snuggle w my foster mom, and sun bathing. I live with 3 other dogs, a couple cats and toddler and preschooler. I get pain meds everyday as well as a joint supplement, liver protectant (to protect it from the pain meds I take) and meds to help my eyes produce tears. I love my foster family very very much but I am looking for a forever home. I wouldn't mind living w someone who would like to snuggle w me and not expect me to be too active (I can walk on a leash but can't take walks if that makes sense).
Sassy is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, on flea and heartworm preventative, groomed, free 30 days of insurance and ready for her new home.
