Annie Oakley (Spayed)'s Story...
"Annie Oakley" is a cute young adult female Labrador Retriever/Boxer mix who made her debut at the HSOV on September 19, 2014 after she was found in Marietta, Ohio. Unfortunately this little girl was not wearing a collar so she had no form of identification in the way of a dog tag nor an id tag to enable us locate her owner :(
"Annie Oakley" has a fawn-colored short smooth coat with white highlights on her chest, a long tail, and a beautiful face with a black button nose and short 'horizontal' ears. "Annie" has a friendly, fun-loving personality and walks fairly well on a leash (and is surprisingly pretty strong for such a small girl). She seems to be a little overwhelmed with so many other 'guests' in the "Hotel For Dogs" and is putting up a brave front to pretend she isn't afraid :( "Annie Oakley" is now available for adoption since she was not reclaimed. She has been spayed and has also been given rabies vaccine. "Annie Oakley" would prefer to be an 'only child' since she doesn't really get along well with other dogs (or cats). Rescue groups may contact HSOV Canine Rescue Coordinator, Celeste Ridgway, by sending an email to cr_ridgway@yahoo.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Annie Oakley (Spayed), a Marietta Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Boxer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
