Rico's Story...
My name is Rico. I am a 6 yr old Chihuahua, some say I look like a min pin, who knows, maybe I am, regardless I am ADORABLE. I get along with the other dogs, but the cats don't like me chasing them to play. Silly cats don't know how to have fun. I enjoy bathing in the sun. My foster parents say I hog the bed, I just want to be comfy and warm under the covers. They just need a bigger bed that's all. I would love to find my forever home. King size bed a plus. :)

**If interested please fill out an application on our website www.mendingheartsrescue.org and we can set up a time to meet them, as we are a foster based rescue**

**adoptions fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, heartworm check for dogs, FeLV test for cats, and flea/heartworm prevention**

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rico, a Rockford Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Rockford, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Rockford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rockford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rockford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rockford paves the way for another one to be saved.
