Maurice is an amazing border collie mix looking for a home. He is super smart and a very gentle and tender boy. His coat is so soft and has gorgeous chestnut coloring. We had to shave him down due to severe matting. We think he is enjoying his new "do" in this warmer weather but rest-assured, his lovely full coat will be back soon. Bless his heart, Maurice spent over 2 months at a rural Virginia animal shelter. He became very stressed with all of the barking and commotion and much prefers a calmer atmosphere.
He loves to play with other dogs but would be just fine as an only dog. Maurice does well on leash and enjoys meeting new people and dogs on our walks but he is basically a homebody and just loves to chill with his human friends. He is curious about cats but walks away from them if they swat at him. We have not seen him with children but he should do fine with them. Our adoption center has a large playroom where everyone can get acquainted should you decide you would like to meet Maurice. Maurice is one year old and weighs 43 lbs. He is crate-trained and housebroken. He has been neutered and is up to date on shots. He is microchipped. Maurice is going to be a fabulous companion for some lucky person or family.
