My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Olive is a precious girl that was on her very last day at a crowded South Carolina animal shelter. Staff circulated a plea for a rescue group to step up for her as they had all been especially touched by what a wonderful dog she was during her time there at the shelter. What a winner this girl is! She is fantastic with other dogs - very energetic and playful with those who want to be and super sweet with our shy, submissive dogs. She has gently encouraged some of our timid dogs and has helped them become more confident so that they too can find homes of their own. Olive just has a special sense about the other dogs. She is very, very smart and observant. We have been amazed at how quickly she learns things and knows exactly what to do and when, not just with the other dogs, but with her behavior in general. Olive has terrific house manners and is crate-trained and housebroken. She walks very well on leash and meets new people and other dogs very nicely. She would probably be a good running buddy as she does have quite a bit of energy. Although not a requirement, she would love to have a nice fenced in yard to romp and play in when the family is at home. Never leave your pets outside unattended! One of her favorite things to do is to lay all stretched out in the grass like a flounder! Olive does not do very well with cats. She is curious and seems to respect them but we still think it would be best not to place her in a home with cats. She should do fine with children, but older kids would be best as she can get excited and jump up sometimes. Olive has been spayed and microchipped and she is up to date on her shots. She has tested negative for heartworms and is on monthly preventatives for heartworms, fleas and ticks. She is 2 years old and weighs 26 lbs. If you would like to meet Olive, the first step in our adoption process is the application. Our form can be completed on line at www.cedarfarmrescue.com . After you have submitted the form, please call Tony at 336.251.8877.
