DUKE's Story...
This gorgeous boy, Duke, is a 2- 3 year old Lab mix who was picked up as a stray by a local kill shelter and never claimed by his owners. He is a wonderful, playful boy and is completely housetrained and crate trained. He plays well with all of the other dogs in his foster home and sleeps with his foster mom in bed. He is a very good watchdog but also likes to stretch out on the chaise and watch some TV before bedtime. He weighs about 60 pounds, so he can be a handful. He needs some work on the leash, because he loves to meet new people and really gets excited. However, if you want a loyal adorable boy…Duke is the one for you. He just wants to be loved and cared for. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. CONTACT US AT 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

DUKE, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
