Meet Nelson, a 2.5 yr. old, 18 lb. Corgi mix. Are you looking for a companion dog to your small dog? Nelson loves other dogs, both to run around and play but also relax! He is the perfect companion dog and is very easy and low maintenance. We rescued him from the South L.A. Shelter where he spent six long months hiding in his cubby very, very scared of people. The first month with us he was mainly just getting used to being around people and dogs. He quickly became very fond of the other dogs and started playing and running. Every day, a simple routine of hanging out in the office with some people, just letting him be and not pressuring him, then outside with other dogs, made him feel braver and then, he started trusting enough to take treats from a hand. It will still take some time for him to be able to walk on leash and be out and about, so a patient owner that lives in a house with a yard where he can go in and out would be necessary for him. He is surely an easy dog to have around; he does not ask for much other than to co-exist and is curious about life.
Nelson is smart and very cute! Watch his video where he is stealing a shoe yesterday in his foster home. He loves to collect things and take them back to his bed, anything is game; socks, glasses, tools, paper once done with this little mission he looks very proud of himself! He is quite a little character, this boy, and really wants to be social and around people. When I put him outside, he will bark and let me know he want to come back inside. He follows the lead of other dogs. He understands routines quickly so he makes progress almost daily.
Nelson is neutered, up-to-date with shots and micro-chipped. Are you the person that would like to give this little boy a chance to continue to blossom?
