Edgar is a great dog who needed a little extra work before he was ready to go to his forever home, so he was chosen to be part of the very special Rebound program!
The Rebound program sends selected shelter dogs for training by inmates at the Sanger B. Powers Correctional Center in Oneida. These specially chosen and trained inmates work with FVHA's expert, Carol, to provide approximately 12 weeks of individualized training and socialization for the dogs. Upon completion, these very special dogs return to the shelter all ready for their big second chance at being adopted by a (very lucky) forever family.
Edgar is back from the program! His handler at Rebound says that he is a little shy at first but very playful. He likes to play fetch with a ball or stick and likes chewing on bones. He is potty trained and great with kids. He also doesn't bark much, has a mellow attitude, is good with other dogs, and doesn't chew on items like shoes or clothing. He will make a great family pet!
