My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet girl is a Schnauzer and possible Irish Wolfhound mix. She is approx 18 mos. old and 35 lbs. When we rescued her, she was due to be euthanized as she had heart worms, mange and was so terrified she had nothing going for her to make it to adoptions area. It has been a long road for her. We treated her heartworms, and mange and both are gone. We sent her to training for two weeks for a board and train program where she has made great strides in overcoming her fear. When we first brought her into the foster home, she would just cower in a corner and was too scared to move. Gradually she would let me give her treats. Fast forward a few months and she now runs to me for treats when called, she loves to run and play with the other dogs and today she actually picked up a ball in her mouth...a huge improvement!!!! She is still very timid and shy with people, but every day is a new day and every day she gets a little less scared.. sometimes it just takes a while to gain the trust and confidence of these dogs and some good professional training.. We wonder what happened to her before she landed up at the shelter. We hope she finds her own patient family!! Abigail has a heart murmur for which we had an ultrasound and there is nothing medically required for this and her records are available.

The total adoption cost of $475 includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration . The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. All our dogs are in foster care, there is no physical shelter. Some have not yet arrived in PA.
