My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 4 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver & White
Weight: 56 lbs
Variety: Field

Fergie is a funny, friendly girl who loves people and other dogs. She came to ESRA because her family wasn't able to spend the time to properly care for her. Fergie is a Velcro girl who loves walks, playing fetch in the yard, and belly rubs. She is housetrained and is good in the car.

Fergie knows basic commands such as Sit and Kennel, but she needs improvement on her obedience with someone willing to work with her consistently. She is not good at recall and will try to escape if a gate or door is open, so she will need a home with a fenced yard.

Fergie pulls on the leash, but her foster family is working on this. She came to ESRA a little overweight and does need to drop a few pounds, so regular walks will help her trim down. She is so funny when she comes inside after her walks. She literally dives onto the linoleum floor to cool off!

Fergie can be a little mischievous and has been known to surf the counter, sniff the garbage can, and beg at the table. Because of this, she is crated when necessary in her foster home. She is quite food motivated, so having Fergie around small children could be difficult. We therefore think that she will do best in a Forever Home with kids of at least school age.

Fergie likes water and would probably be a great swimmer. She loves attention and gives great snuggles and kisses! Princess Fergie is a diamond in the rough, and she will blossom with loving leadership. If you are willing to spend some time with her, she will reward you with her adoring eyes and loving devotion.

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Fergie.
