Max is a big teddy bear among his foster siblings. As a 2 year old, Max found himself surrendered to a local shelter. He was super-sized at 42 pounds on a 16 inch frame, but is trimming down by running with his pack. With his big goofy grin, there was no way our volunteer could leave this guy behind at the shelter!
Max has great house manners and is crated only at meals times as are most of the other beagles in his foster home. He is not food aggressive and waits his turn when treats are being given out. He even gave up a treasured bone when his buddy gave an “ I want that “ bark! He has been excellent with the younger pups in the pack. He is indeed a gentle giant when it comes to wrestling, which is his all time favorite activity! A close second is chasing after the smallest and fastest female beagle who delights in a pack of boys baying in pursuit of her. Max is dog door trained and sleeps through the night on the softest of all the beds, but is happy to share.
Max is a cuddler and has no concept of how big a boy he is. He is happy to curl up next to you on the couch, but will claim your lap if you are in a chair! He has a big heart and needs a family to share all his love. Max would be happiest with a canine buddy if his family is going to be gone all day at work and school.
