Here's what the humans have to say about me:
TEDDY is a 3 year old neutered chocolate male Lab that weighs 52 pounds. He is a very timid boy looking for a patient family that will give him the love and encouragement he needs to become a confident dog. The evaluator said he was scared and confused in the shelter environment. In spite of his fear, Teddy let the evaluator touch him all over, checking his teeth, ears, tail, paws, and he was fine. He is good with other dogs. An excited, hyper male dog was brought into his kennel and he did fine. He is shy but good with people and food. Teddy is a shy dog and needs a fenced yard (physical fence, not electronic). Teddy has probably not spent much time on a leash. He does not pull but looks for encouragement to move forward, especially in unfamiliar or "scary" places/situations. Teddy has gained some confidence since coming to Lab Rescue but will need a patient family willing to progress at his pace. Teddy is approved for kids ages 10+.
Update (7/3): Teddy is getting the hang of the photo sessions. He had a play date this week and had a blast. He follows me everywhere, behaves very well for a 3 year old. Shows some young boy spirit but settles down quickly, walks with just a collar, and loves the car and the hardest chew toys available!
Update (6/26): Teddy is such a sweet, shy, boy who would love an active fur brother or sister to play with. He will chase fireflies, balls, even fur balls after brushing. This guy is looking for a family to be around and would enjoy an open place to play or a fenced yard. He loves the car and going to the park. He's working on his commands.
June 17, 2015: He is a sweet shy guy who is learning the joys of being an indoor dog. He loves the car, other dogs, and chew toys. He walks beautifully and is becoming more trusting and confident every day.
Update (6/5): Teddy will do best in a home with another dog who can show him the ropes
Update (6/3):Teddy really wants to come meet his forever family! Sweet Teddy is learning stairs, doors, tile. carpet and wood floors. Best of all, I'm learning car rides are fun and when FM puts on the leash it's not to chain me outside. I'm still a little afraid of new things I've never seen before. I'm learning to throw my toys and play by myself until FM can play with me. I'm a good boy and very mellow for my age! I don't bark and only whine softly when I want to go out. I love snuggles, belly rubs, and just to know every thing is OK. Yep, and I haven't counter surfed once..even when they had ribs! Are you the family to show this sweet guy the ropes of a good life?
Update (5/20):Teddy is a rock star. He was so scared yesterday! His transformation hour by hour has been amazing! He's loving toys, scratches, hugs, and walks! He whines some in the crate, but who wouldn't after being in the kennel. We brushed him a lot yesterday after his bath and he's silky smooth as sun bleached fur grows out. He's willing to toss toys and wiggle on his back as he plays. He doesn't pull on the leash and slept well next to my bed last night.
This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. The rescue has between 50 ~ 80 dogs available for adoption.
