Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.
My name is Alicia and I am a 1 year old spayed female Poodle who came to NBS Animal Rescue when I was found severely matted and dirty by a local Animal Control Officer who contacted the kind people at NBSAR to help me and my friends. It's really hard for me to look at the pictures of me and my friends when we were first found - I definitely wasn't well cared for or loved in my previous home - but I am now!! The great people at NBSAR found me an awesome foster home who has let me blossom and grow in my own time and have helped me to learn how to trust people and to have fun!
I am doing better with potty training - I am pee pad trained, and am learning how to do my business outside. I am very shy with new people still, but with some patience, tasty treats, soft words, and allowing me to come to you in a few days I become your best friend. I love exploring my foster home's fenced yard and sitting on your lap for belly rubs. I am an excellent player and love tennis balls, squeaky toys, and romping with my foster friends. I got a clean bill of health from the doggy doctor and am up to date on all of my vaccines. My super soft fur is starting to grow back in and I'm getting little brown dapple spots on my back - my foster mom says that they are beautiful! My hair was so badly matted and I wasn't cared for in my last home - it caused me to lose my vision in my one eye. Don't worry though - it's perfectly fine and doesn't bother me a bit! I run and play and hop and give kisses without a problem!
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me? These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods at a time.
- 100% fenced in yard.
- No kids as I am scared of fast movements and loud noises.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family, please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
