Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Are you wondering how a cat gets to be called Hercules? We are told that he is very strong, at least in spirit. We don’t know if his father was the god Zeus (but he probably doesn’t know his father anyway), and if he is in fact a demigod. I guess it’s not nice to gossip, and this is just shelter speculation, but…who knows. Hercules is a testament to all those cats out there that are abandoned every day. He is one of the lucky ones. Some volunteers spotted Hercules when he waited patiently under a car while other cats were feeding nearby. There is an area where homeless cats gather for food, and wait their turn to become residents of our shelter. Hercules was a bit shy, but with a wave of the hand he came running over. He rolled around and did his best to emit a little meow of contentment. The volunteers knew that this cat was recently abandoned, scooped him up and brought him to Nirvana, oops – I mean the Mt Vernon Animal Shelter. Now gaining weight and full of pep Hercules is awaiting his next shot at a loving home. You’ll find that Hercules is a playful guy, and he really insists on getting your attention. Frisky Hercules would do well in a small household of cats, but he would probably enjoy just as much being your “one and only.” Come meet this adorable fun-filled cat soon.
