Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hail, Caesar! loved by all.
Caesar is about 4-5 years old and approximately 55 lbs. His breed mix is a guess, many people see some sort of hound or lab in his makeup.
This handsome boy came into a small rural shelter in early November 2014 and passed all of his behavior evaluation tests. Shelter staff sang his praises, calling him a gem and a potential great family dog. After 6 months with little chance of even being seen, Caesar is now enjoying life in a Dusty Paws foster home - finally in a position to find a forever family. He is already charming everyone at adoption events.
Caesar is an all-around good boy who seems to love everyone he meets. He is good with other dogs and has been fostering comfortably with both a large and a small dog. Caesar lights up when he sees a tennis ball, his favorite toy. He hasn't quite mastered the concept of "fetch" & bring the ball back, but he will happily spend his daily quota of energy on chasing after tennis balls & then lie down to chew one. Caesar's energy is impressive. He loves to go for walks & with a little leash training would make a great jogging buddy. He would love hiking, too. Caesar is attentive & eager to please. Just open the car door and he will hop in.
Caesar's foster dad notes that he is good in the house - does not chew things up and seems to be house trained. He is not hyper or pushy and is fine with kids, rarely jumping up. He may come up occasionally for attention and a snuggle, then will lie down in the room with you. Caesar has good relationships with the other foster dogs and will play with them. He is neither submissive nor alpha, but somewhere in between. Outside, he is not a digger in the yard. He does seem to feel it is his job to be an early warning system for possible intruders (like the mailman) but he is generally quiet and doesn't bark just to hear his own voice.
Caesar takes great interest in cats & would chase them if he had a chance, so he should go to a home with no felines.
