Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Francesco (Cesco) is a 6 1/2 year old black male with a small white bib and just the tips of his paws dipped in white and natural ears. Cesco came to MAGDRL when his owner grew ill and he could no longer care for Cesco. After a week in the shelter, we were able to bring Cesco home. He was able to adjust pretty quickly and has become a member of the pack. He lives with a senior Dane and a senior little white fluffy dog, but he mostly pays attention to the people in the family. He follows us very closely and wants to be wherever we are, even including the shower! Once we settle down though he does as well. Cesco is a "talker". He moans as he stretches or lies down or rolls over. It’s quite comical and we laugh at it nearly every time. He has also demonstrated some singing skills when certain songs come on the radio. It’s hilarious to see him suddenly start to howl along with the songs. He seems to be a fan of Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel and The Beatles so far! Like some Danes, Cesco can be a little sloppy in drinking water. We keep a towel by the bowl for a quick mouth wipe and that takes care of that. Cesco has also shown us that he likes to drink from the faucet and that’s a lot less sloppy. Cesco was an only dog in his prior home, so he is happy entertaining himself with squeaky toys and tennis balls. Check out the video of him playing with a soccer ball. He loves it! There is a lot of life in this 6 1/2 year old puppy! Cesco likes long walks and has been a great companion walking for exercise. He’s currently used to walking on a retractable long leash and has quickly learned (mostly) about not walking on the wrong side of trees and poles. He tends to pull on a shorter leash, so he’ll need to learn more leash skills there. Cesco reported enjoyed going to the dog park with his prior owner. He meets other dogs well when they are calm, but we’re working on calm responses to the high energy dogs he meets.
