Hi - I'm Buddy! I am a Chihuahua, approx. 11 years young, approx. 9 lbs., neutered, heartworm tested (negative), vaccinated, treated for the prevention of fleas and parasites/worms. My life start out VERY hard. I was used for breeding and severely beaten day after day. When my "owners" were done with me, they tossed me into an animal shelter. I was terrified. Thankfully A4A saved me just in time. I am now vetted. I am happy, healthy and I have so much love to give.
I love to burrow under the blankets. I love to go for walks. I LOVE to snuggle up close to you and to sleep with you at night. I do well with other friendly dogs and cats. Children scare me, however, and I prefer a home without small children so I don't have to worry about being hurt again.
I am potty trained. I use the potty outside in the yard and my foster parents keep a puppy pad down when they are away from the house and at night time too, so I will use that if it's available too.
My ideal home: a calm home with lots of love (and a home that will be patient with me as I warm up and learn that I can trust you...remember, I had a tough start in life...I need to know that I am safe). A home that will let me sleep with them and burrow under the covers. A home that will not leave me in a crate. A home that lets me jump up on the couch and burrow under a blanket or snuggle up close to you. A home that will let me sit on their laps, pet me, go outside with me, take me on walks, rub my belly (I love that!)...and just love me for me.
My diet mainly consists of soft food. I eat a bowl of Beneful wet food in the morning and at night I have a bowl of FreshPet Select wet food. My foster family keeps a bowl of Chef Micheal's dry food out for me at all times and I do snack on it occasionally, but I prefer my wet food meals and eat them very well.
