Roary is a friendly, happy, and playful puppy that is cute beyond cute. He was rescued from the Animal Friends of the Valley Shelter. Roary is a one-year-old Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier mix weighing about 18 lbs. He has a beautiful, smooth soft coat, with black and tan and white (tri-colored) markings and white paws. He walks well on the leash and rides fine in the car. Roary is very friendly and people-oriented, and would probably be fine with kids, however, he does still puppy bite just a bit (he can be taught not to do this).

Roary does fine with all dogs, male and female, big and small. He lives in a foster home with three other dogs but has also lived at the rescues main location with multiple dogs. He lives with a cat in his current foster home and gets real excited when he sees the cat, but does not show any aggression towards the cat. Roary is an active, playful puppy who loves to play interactively with other dogs, be it wrestling, biting each other, chasing each other, or exploring the yard together as partners in crime, always having fun! Even though Roary longs to play, he can also chill on a pet bed in the same room that you are working in, or entertain himself with a few toys. Though not a nuisance barker, Roary will alert bark if the doorbell rings.

Roary has a slight issue with separation. He can be a bit whiny if he cannot see you. He does not mind going off exploring, but he wants to know that he can come back to you and find you. We are working on getting Roary to feel more secure in his new environment; however, we think Roary’s best fit is a home with a yard and another playful pup to be his pal. Roary is potty-trained (however potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment). He is crate-trained and sleeps quietly in his crate at night however; he prefers that his crate be placed in the same room where the humans are sleeping.

If you are an adult, but still living at home with your parents, please have the homeowners and those who make the decisions in the household make the rescue contact; thank you! Roary is neutered, fully vaccinated (including rabies), front-lined, dewormed, and microchipped. If you are interested in Roary, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. There is no need to phone the rescue until you have first submitted an interest via e-mail. Please visit my website at: http://www.angelsheartdogrescue.com and go to the Adoption Tab to read about the adoption process and fees; thank you!
