Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Astro: 3-yr-old to-be-neutered male black Lab 60 lbs.
Ready for blast-off. This galactic traveler rocketed in to Lab Rescue from the Solano County Animal Shelter where he’d been surrendered with his brother… as his family (of three kids) could no longer afford to care for both dogs. Originally named Goofy (his brother was called Mickey), we felt it appropriate to reach to the stars for a new name… and voila, Astro!
What Astro’s Foster says: Astro is a wonderful dog – a bit smaller than the typical lab. He walks on leash quite well… although he does not recognize any commands. He is probably 5-10 pounds underweight and we are trying to pack on some quality pounds. Despite his youth, he is not a wild and crazy dog – but his does have quite a remarkable vertical launch capability. He not fond of playing with toys or fetching balls – perhaps he can learn these fine dog traits. Not sure if he is a swimmer -- or a dock diver. His best habit is to find his human and assume a comfortable position nearby. Astro gets along with alien dogs, but we are not so sure about cats. He has some separation anxiety that we are working to eliminate, and his crate training continues.
What Astro’s Rescue Rep says: Astro is microchipped and current on his vaccinations. He will be neutered in the very near future. Astro is ideal for an active time-traveling family or individual. Would be great with space kids over the age of six. He would thrive with lots of universe to romp in. He is located on the planet of Berkeley.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
