My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE - We've discovered that Sheeba is not only very sweet, she is also very smart. She had learned to flip the latch on the gate to her Kennel and let herself out; so we started securing the latch. But then she started climbing the chain link to get out. So she was put in a kennel with a cover over the top. Finally we realized that she would only try to get out when there was a thunder storm at night. She just hates being locked in when there's thunder and no one is around. Once out she's fine. Poor girl, she's torn up her nose and tore off a back claw. This easy going, housetrained, good on leash, sweet lady needs a loving caring home (before she hurts herself any more). Please consider Sheeba if you're looking for a new canine companion.
AVAILABLE 05-15-15 Five years ago when she was just a puppy, sweet Sheeba went to live with her family. However, on May 12, she was brought to the Shelter to find a new family, because she and a dominant neighbor dog got the best of her. She was always okay with the resident dogs, but after that she became cautious of the other dog. According to the family, she was great with the kids and adults. Seems that Sheeba trusts people more than dogs. They said she is housetrained and knows what sit means which she has proven to us. She enjoys car rides, leash walks and quiet time. They described her as a playful, curious, lap loving social butterfly. Sheeba is spayed, her shots are up to date and she tested negative for heart worms. She's even microchipped. This friendly girl is good on leash walks and some times wants a belly rub at the end of her walk. You really have to meet her in person to see just how sweet Sheeba really is; so come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City, ask to take Sheeba for a walk; you might decide to make her your new four legged BFF. Since Sheeba is 5yrs. old she qualifies for our SOS (Save Our Seniors) program which means her adoption fee is 50% off if her adopter is age 55 or older.
