Meet Amber, the sweetest and possibly heaviest Shih Tzu you will ever meet. Amber was well loved and fed by her previous owner who is no longer able to care for her. Amber's current weight is 30.6 pounds, her ideal weight is between 15 and 17 lbs.
Amber is happy and loving and would like to be a lap dog again. She walks well on a leash, bonds quickly with her human and does well with other dogs. She loves car rides and is starting an exercise regimen of leash walks. Amber needs an adopter that understands good nutrition is essential and will help Amber make good nutritional choices in the future.
Amber has been spayed and has received regular preventive vet care since she was 10 weeks old. This included Immunizations Heartworm testing and preventive medication.
If you are looking for a love bug that will love you to the moon and back, Amber is your girl.
If you are interested in finding out more about Amber, please fill out an
application. Amber - Adoption Event May 30 is being fostered in Shrewsbury.
The adoption fee is $350.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
