My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Buddy and I am a 5-7 year old Blue and Gold Macaw. I am extremely shy. I do not know how to step up yet, and at my previous home I did not spend a lot of time outside of my cage, but my foster family is working with me on both of these challenges. I just went to the vet and it turns out I am very thin as my previous diet consisted of mostly peanuts and apples. My new foster family is working on converting me to a healthier diet, and I just started eating pellets. They are also working on introducing me to fresh vegetables, fruits, and healthy nuts. Everyday I spend lots of time with my foster parents learning to step up and trust people. I like people, but can become scared and shy if you move around too fast. I tend to prefer women, but some men are ok. The more time you can spend with me, the more I will like you, it’s pretty simple. Like all Macaws I can be pretty loud, I tend to scream when I want attention, and when the sun comes up in the morning. I like to say “Hi Buddy” when you come in the room, and “cracker” when I want a treat. I am hoping that there will be someone out there who will have the time, patience, and love I deserve. I promise that if that is you, you will receive a lifetime of companionship and love from me! I hope you come and meet me very soon!
