Captain (Cappi for short) has had a very sad and lonely life before coming to The Fuzzy Pet Foundation. A man acquired Captain to be used as a 'guard dog' for his warehouse. For all eight years of his life, Captain received no love from the people around him. He was given food and water once every few days, and was not given any shelter to protect himself from the elements. Rain or shine, Captain was forced to live outside and lay on concrete floors with no bedding whatsoever. Every day, Captain would wait in front of the entrance gate, wagging his tail, and hoping for even a morsel of attention from the passers-by.
One day, a Good Samaritan decided to talk the warehouse owner into surrendering Captain; she explained to him that under TFPF Captain would have a second chance at life and a much better future. At first, the owner resisted saying that he needed a 'guard dog,' but later, he agreed because Captain was 'useless.' Captain did not have a single mean bone in his body, and all he wanted to do was please people. Hence, the warehouse owner found no 'use' for him.
Captain is such a special soul. He is loving, gentle, and well-mannered. He is excellent on the leash. He LOVES to play fetch and has already learned the commands 'sit,' 'shake,' and 'down.' He appreciates the simplest pleasures in life, such as quietly sitting and laying beside his caregivers, or being petted on the head. Captain is fine around small to medium-sized dogs, and has not been around too many cats or large-breed dogs. Captain has a clean bill of health.
