Brownie's Story...
Brownie is a 3-year-old piggie that was given up due to her family moving out of state and not being able to find a rental that allowed them to keep pets. She has been a child's pet and is very friendly. Yoda is from the same family and was purchased to be a friend to Brownie, but Brownie didn't like her,so the pigs have been housed in separate cages.

Guinea pigs are active, gentle, relatively low maintenance pets that love companionship, delight in cuddles and make great pets for gentle children six years old and up. Guinea pigs are happiest when they have a clean cage and lots of interactive socialization time with their person. They do require fresh hay and greens (lettuce, parsley, basil, etc.) on a daily basis and adopters should consider this expense when adding a guinea pig to their family. If you would like to adopt a guinea pig, rabbit or other small critter, please fill out our adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brownie, a Medfield Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Medfield, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Medfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Medfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Medfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Medfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
