Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Dori is currently in a foster home in Houston, Texas and is available for out of state adoption.**
My name is Dori. I am a 60 pound American Staffordshire female and I am around 4 years old. I was picked up as a stray in the south part of TX and turned into a city shelter. Fortunately, some really nice people wanted to see me find a family and they pulled me out of that place and took me home.
I have been told I am one of the sweetest gals around. I really love meeting new people and getting a good bottom scratch out of them, it’s my sweet spot! I always have a smile on my face and will be happy to see you every time you walk into the room. I have never met a stranger or someone I don’t want to plant a big kiss on.
I enjoy spending time with all dogs, I have friends at doggy day care of all shapes and sizes. I have a moderate level of energy, so I love a good play time, but also like to settle in and hang out with my family. I like a good long walk, but due to my squatty stature, I am not sure I am good for distance running. I would be an awesome hiking buddy or just a good friend to spend quiet time with. My favorite thing in the world is people, so I don’t need much else!
My family does need to be aware that I am heart worm positive, but I have been started on a “slow-kill” treatment that is helping me get better. I do not have any symptoms that will make my adoption difficult, but I will require medication twice a month (super easy, you can just put it in my food!). The rescue will send the medication I need with me, but my family should know that it could take up to a year for the worms to be completely killed off.
I am spayed, current on my vaccinations and microchipped. I am available for out of state adoption and my fee is $450, which includes my airline ticket, my travel crate and new comfy bed. If you are interested in adopting me please email my friends at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org.
