Juicy came to us at Second Chance Pet Adoption League in need of emergency veterinary care...she had been ill- losing weight and not eating- for over a week and her owners couldn't afford vet care and were bringing her to the pound to be euthanized. At only 3 years old this tiny pittie girl had already had at least 2 litters of pups and our vet immediately determined she was suffering from pyometra, a uterine infection common in unspayed females and life-threatening without emergency spay surgery. Her condition could have easily been prevented if only her previous owners had her spayed...now instead of a simple $150 spay surgery she required a much riskier $1000 surgery plus needed to be on IV fluids and antibiotics. She had surgery on Tuesday 5/19 and has made a full recovery already! She is a tiny gentle little girl, only 40lbs full grown, and is looking for a responsible forever home now that her breeding days are over. As is often the case, we had to get her the care she needed immediately and are hoping we can count on you, our friends and supporters, to help us fund her care so we can continue to help future urgent medical cases! Thank you! Visit our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com for more info about our rescue.
We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). To help us better match a pet to your household, we request you fill out an application on our homepage www.secondchance.petfinder.com and copy and paste it into an email, or print it and bring it to our adoption day when you come. Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.
