My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HOBIE is a 1 year old neutered fox red male Lab who weighs 50 pounds. Hobie is a sweetheart! He has very nice manners and gets along with everyone! He is good in the crate and a wonderful rider! Hobie was very skinny when he came to us at just 40 lbs. He is already up to 49 and his foster will be working on him gaining even more! Hobie can be a counter surfer, like any lab but takes correction well. He is approved for kids 10+.

Update (5/31): Derby is a major love bug! He wants to be petted and does a great lab lean. He sits on your feet and if you pet any lower than his head he rolls onto his back so you can get his belly. Derby is very affectionate; he loves to give you kisses. On walks he is interested in all people and dogs. He'd probably be great for a shorter distance runner or someone who wants a walking buddy he's not a stop and sniffer. He goes to the door when he wants to go out. More on this sweet boy as we get to know him better.

Update (5/25): Well it's been about 24 hours since I've been in my foster home. I have decided I can be a lap dog. I enjoy climbing up on Foster Mom and giving her kisses. While there & giving kisses, I decided that her lap was a comfortable place to lay on. I've acclimated to the program around here rather well. I haven't had an accident in the house and I patiently wait for my food. Now that's something that I love,...eating! You see, I'm a little on the skinny side but I've been putting on weight thanks to the staff at Animal Medical Center. I still have a little more to go but I'm feeling so much better.
I slept well in the crate last night too. They have this nice soft dog bed in the crate and once I settled, I feel asleep. You know, it was rather quiet here. Today I have played with toys, chewed on a nylabone, explored the backyard and taken some doggie naps.
Finally, Gemma has warmed up to me. She's not quite ready to play but thank God she's not growling anymore. I will write some more later but right now I'm going to sunbathe in the backyard.
Oh, I'm around a year old and available for adoption!
