My name is Duffy! Well that is what is it now that I am in foster care with CAA Rescue; what my name was before or what my life was like before is a real mystery to everyone.
I was found stray and picked up by Animal Control and I sat there at the pound waiting but no one ever came for me and no one ever called looking for me … until FINALLY one person did: My Foster Mummy! She said yes to helping me into her home in a blink of an eye and quickly a volunteer came and whisked me to her place.
I am a funny little man and very respectful of my foster home
I am dog friendly and walk well on the leash. I absolutely lovvvvvvvvvve my walks
It seems like someone played a very back joke or allowed a child to play with scissors as my grooming is atrocious!! CAA Rescue is looking for a volunteer groomer who can shave me down completely so we can start all over again because someone really did a bad job taking care of me! My cut is all uneven and does not show what a handsome man I truly am!
While I did initially have accidents in my foster mummy’s home (everyone just chalked it up to nerves and having a pretty foster sister around) I am doing all my business outside
I am not a crazy cuddle bug of a dog; I like my 4 paws firmly planted on the ground! But I do very much enjoy the company of people and like to be around them and in the same room with them. Always very close
I do like having my own crate; it is setup as a spot for me to g chill in with the gate door open and I like having my very own room
I am a smart little man who and I am a very polite boy
I am not a big barker which is surprising as I am schnauzer but so far I am not overly vocal and I accept new people entering foster home very easily. I am a very calm and laid back man that causes no trouble at all. My energy level would be more of a medium rather than your typical high energy schnauzer
I am not tolerant to being overly manipulated but I like my pets very much but everything in moderation; so for this reason a home with no children under the age of 12 please.
While I think I would be ok if young respectful children come to visit I don’t think I would be happy living in a home with the day in and out of hustle and bustle of children and family life.
I (according to my foster mum) do not jump up on any of the furniture and remain on the floor at all times but shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh don’t tell her that when she goes to work sometimes I sneak up on her bed for a late morning snooze – not my fault really!!! That bed is just so darn comfy cozy!
I have not been tested with cats
Nor have I been left alone for an extended period of time; but when I have been left there has been no problems but of course I have my really pretty foster sister to keep me company when we are left alone!
I think I would really enjoy having my remaining 5-7 years of life with an established couple, out of the city with a back yard who love to walk! I am by no means considered a senior! I am an adult boy who still has so much love to give and a world to explore!
Everyone is having a real hard time trying to figure out what life I had before I joined CAA Rescue in foster care …. But my foster mama says WHO CARES! I am safe with her now and for the time I need to find my true forever humans
It has been hard waking day in and day out wondering if my family … my true best friends … my real humans will ever find me. I think it is a little sad that there is no one to love me and I think everyone should at least have one person to love them wholly, completely and unconditionally in their lives.
