Richie's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Richie is a sweet, active black Lab mix. He is playful and affectionate. He walks fairly well on a leash and loves his crate but still needs supervision inside as he never lived inside with a family before and doesn't know the rules. But, he is very eager to please and tries so hard to be a good boy. He will learn quickly because he wants to be loved. Ritchie is a slight heart worm positive. He has no symptoms and feels just fine. He is currently being treated and DHS will continue to fund his care even if adopted.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Richie, a Rayville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Rayville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Rayville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rayville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rayville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rayville paves the way for another one to be saved.
