My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello friends, my name is Ghost. I’m a two year old gentleman with a heart of gold. I’m great in the house, I never make a peep in my crate and I love meeting new dogs! Now, there are some things about me you should probably know if you are looking to meet me that I am a bit of a special needs boy.\r\nI was never socialized to people when I grew up and I’m still working on trusting new people and new places. I love being in my foster home and after 3 months here I greet my foster parents with finger nibbles and happy dancing! Petting is better left to quiet situations when I’m relaxed and can enjoy it without much distraction.\r\nI am still a bit of a flight risk, so you have to be very careful with me around open doors. Before I came to New Hope, I was seen in another community for almost a year before they could catch me… I can run really fast! My foster mom takes me to the dog park on my harness though and I LOVE it there! If you have a big back yard, you can watch me stretch my legs, I really love running!\r\nI think I would like to be in a child free home but having a playful dog or 2 around would be awesome! Having a friend really brings me out of my shell! And if you can be patient with me and give me the time to come around, I promise that you won’t be sorry! I really want love and affection, you can see it when I’m relaxed, I’m still just learning there are people I can actually trust! I won’t come around over night. There will be times when my progress is slower than you would like. But I’m trying, I promise.\r\nUPDATE May 21.\r\nWell, Ghosty impressed the heck out of me today. We accidentally went off leash at the beach... and he CAME BACK! Please check out his video to see what joy looks like in dog form. While this was a HUUUUGE step, he still has lots of work to do!
